Arrival airports

Faro:

Faro is the closest airport. It is about 88 km away from our estate and can easily be reached via the well-developed motorway within 50 minutes.

Lisbon:

With 295 km the capital city airport of Portugal is a great deal further away. However, in most cases the prices compared to Faro are more favourable. By the way we ourselves like to use this airport to enjoy a one or two day city tour which is again and again impressing. Even if situated on the colder side of the Atlantic coast, the capital city of Portugal offers a myriad of sights and events. During the following journey to Lagos you can furthermore admire the old Portugal. We are pleased to recommend interesting routes on request.

Sevilla (Spain):

We got this insider tip from some of our group travellers. Depending on the place of departure travelling to the airport that is 285 km away may be more favourable.

Car rental

Before renting a car please make sure that a toll device is included. For several years now this has unfortunately been obligatory for using the motorways in Portugal! Furthermore, a credit card, preferably of the driver, is highly recommendable. It simplifies considerably all transactions at home as well as on the spot! Another recommendation is to book an all-inclusive insurance at the car rental including underbody and perhaps tires. On the spot they suggest an overdone insurance package which we haven't needed within more than 20 years!
